Protect Your Skin
What does Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears have in common? They all need sun screen when they go outdoors. Playing poker with your health is not wise.
Here are some facts and tips.
It’s that time of year again when we hear all the warnings about the sun and the damage it can cause. Truthfully there is no one time of the year when this occurs. Whether it’s summer or winter overexposure to the suns ultraviolet A and B rays can cause skin damage both immediate and long term. It can also damage your eyes contributing to cataracts, macular degeneration and eye lid cancers.
When we tan indoors or outdoors our skin produces melanin (pigment) to protect itself against sunburn. Our tanning is a sign of skin damage which can lead to early wrinkles and more seriously to possible skin cancer and eye damage.
That’s why year round skin protection is important. Whether it’s a beach day, or your shoveling snow and have reflective glare the potential damage is the same. Clouds don’t offer protection and neither does water when you’re swimming. That’s why we must learn to be sun smart.
We all want to enjoy fun in the sun but let’s be smart about it and not hurt ourselves. Most sunscreens used on the body will clog facial pores.
At Jersey Shore Electrolysis we recommend Lyphazome sunscreen to our clients with an SPF of 30 to use on their face. It penetrates quickly ,is waterproof, sweat proof, moisturizing, oil, fragrance and PABA free. For more information refer to our products page.
